Sundays

Our environment is casual and we simply want you to come as you are. You don't need to be put together to do life with us. If you are on the fence at all, we want you to hear us say… JUST COME! We remind ourselves a lot around here that we are REAL people, with REAL problems, but with a REAL HOPE!

Leadership Team

Darnley Mill Church is a community of people who are following Jesus – we aim to be disciples who make disciples. As Christians we believe we have Good News to share with the world that begins right where we are now and wherever we may go – even to the ends of the earth!

Each of our core team have had a personal experience of knowing Jesus Christ as a living Saviour and Friend however we submit to Him as the Son of God and Master of our lives. We believe He always has our best interests at heart.

David and Kerry Holmes have four children: Seth, Noah, Phoebe and Libby. They live close to the Darnley Mill area. David works in local government and when Kerry is not running after the children she finds time to cut people’s hair… with their consent, of course! One of David’s skills is starting conversations with people – he sharpened those skills with an orgainsiation called ‘Tell a Tourist’. When you meet him, ask him about that! David and Kerry enjoy getting to know new people.

Dan and Kim Irvin are Texas natives who moved to Glasgow with their daughters, Lily and Willow, in November of 2020. They were commissioned missionaries with GEM – Greater Europe Mission –  in October of 2018. Dan had a career in aviation production planning and Kim has worked as a professional artist since her days at school, and they are excited to use those skills and gifts to help grow Darnley Mill Church. Throughout their marriage they have consistently used hospitality and friendships as a primary method of ministry. Baking, board games, and having fun with the kids are things Kim and Dan enjoy doing together and sharing with friends. Feel free to stop by their home in the Parkhouse estates for some fresh banana loaf and a cup of coffee!

James and Linda McKerlie have a history in the Darnley and Priesthill area. James was brought up in the area. He remembers many of the haunts of these parts although his career as a secondary teacher took him away from the area. James and Linda worked together in church ministry in the Govanhill area for many years. Linda is a GP and they have got three older children: Andrew, Sarah and Stuart. James serves as the chaplain to Queen’s Park Football Club, so is a frequent visitor to Hampden Park. James and Linda are always busy caring for people.

Allan and Jacqui McKinnon have had a home in the Parkhouse estate which neighbours Darnley Mill for almost 30 years. They have three grown children and six grandchildren. For many years they worked in Tanzania, East Africa, serving God and his people in orphan and childcare, community care, church leadership training and discipleship. Jacqui has been working in recent years with Christians Against Poverty and Allan lectures in local Bible College. Allan and Jacqui love having people in their home at every opportunity.

Ruth Young is an Ayrshire girl but is getting to know Glasgow and especially the Darnley area. She has been involved in short term mission work in several countries from Scotland to Bolivia. This has involved working with children, community work and using her background in business to help with some administration too. Ruth is a recent graduate of Tilsley College and is currently a children’s/youth worker. Ruth enjoys drinking tea and spending time with people.
